You know what's awesome? Going shopping with your best friend to pick out her wedding dress. At some point during the shopping -- after you've hauled heavy gowns to the dressing room, helped her into the dress, zipped it up, fluffed it out , told her to take off the skirt because it makes her look like a frosted cake-- it happens. She finds the perfect dress and she's standing there, smiling, so happy, and you realize that you're one of the lucky few who to gets to see her like that, as a bride, before the big day. It's pretty damn awesome (especially when she's promised in writing that you don't have to wear an ugly bridesmaid dress).
You know what's not awesome? Standing in the middle of a bridal salon, minding your own business, when who rolls in? The girl who is marrying the guy that you almost sort-of, well, it's complicated. Let's just say it was awkward, dirty looks were exchanged and it ended with me and Cassie laughing hysterically, hiding behind a rack of overpriced, disgustingly flowery wedding gowns.
